  一、名詞從句

　　英語的名詞性從句分為主語從句、賓語從句、表語從句和同位語從句四大類。名詞從句的翻譯一般按原文的語序處理即可，但也還有其他一些處理方法。下面我們分別介紹這類從句的翻譯方法。

　　1. 主語從句的譯法

　　由關(guān)聯(lián)詞 what，who，which，when，where，why，how，whenever，wherever，whatever，however等和從屬連詞that，whether等引導的主語從句一般按原文的語序翻譯。

　　How this material can be used depends upon its properties.

　　這種物質(zhì)能得到怎么樣的利用要由它的性質(zhì)而定。

　　That substances expand when heated and contract when cooled is a common physical phenomenon.

　　一般說來，科技英語翻譯的賓語從句可按原文的語序翻譯，但有些介詞像except, besides, but, as to等的賓語從句，應按漢語習慣譯在主句之前。

　　3. 表語從句的譯法

　　在復合句中位于主句連系動詞后的從句稱為表語從句。表語從句的譯法比較簡單，一般可按原文的語序翻譯。
